View on Amazon"Power and Prediction" offers an essential, hype-free framework for understanding the real-world economics of Artificial Intelligence. Rather than focusing on sci-fi scenarios, the authors ground their thesis in a simple economic reality: AI makes prediction cheap.
The most compelling concept in the book is the distinction between "point solutions" and "system-level solutions." Too many leaders treat AI as a plug-and-play tool to make an existing, inefficient process slightly faster. The authors argue that to survive the coming disruption, businesses must reimagine their entire operational systems because accurate prediction is now reliable and affordable. We are currently living in the "Between Times"—the technology is here, but our corporate structures haven't adapted yet.
Given my rating of 10/10 (as noted in your CMS), this is mandatory reading for leaders trying to navigate the transition from simply buying AI wrappers to fundamentally restructuring their business models around AI-driven insights.
